The owners of Beat the Daily Grind describe their partnership as a blessing, one they believe was brought together by God at exactly the right time.
When the opportunity to take over the café presented itself, Rev. Collins Days Sr. connected the three. He is the father of Dr. Constance "Mandy" Days-Chapman, principal of Atlantic City High School, who holds a doctorate in organizational leadership from Stockton University, and Catherine "Bria" Days, a vice principal in the Atlantic City School District. He has also been a mentor and role model for years to Michael Shane Cogossi, who holds a Master of Business Administration and has built a career in healthcare since 2019, focused on billing and finance. Shane also works on real estate and social services projects across Atlantic City.
All three owners hold careers outside the café, and they credit their staff for its success. From Chef Dom Barksdale in the kitchen to baristas who know regulars' orders by heart, the team keeps the coffee right, the food fresh and every guest feeling at home. To the owners, the staff is the heart of Beat the Daily Grind.
